PTI December Blog Hop - Card 2

Here is the 2nd Card I made for the December blog hop.

This card features BasicGrey pattern paper from a 6x6 deck, red & white baker's twine, and PTI products: white CS, framed out #11 stamp set & die, countdown details banners die, and stamps from With All my Heart. Inks are Fine Linen & Pure Poppy. Hopefully you can see in the image that I embossed the circular seal from the set with clear embossing powder at the bottom left of the heart. It looks so pretty in real life!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

PTI December Blog Hop - Card 1

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas! We spent it at home with our little boy and had such a nice day. He opened presents in the morning - he got a toy cellphone, a MegaBlocks Play-n-Go table, a set of 100 blocks, a MegaBlocks dump truck, a Sesame Street Garbage Truck with Oscar the Grouch and a new sippy cup. Then we played all day and watched a few too many episodes of Call of the Wildman as there was a marathon showing on Animal Plant (it's addicting LOL) and today are planning on driving up north to see the rest of our families...however we have to drive through Indianapolis, and my momma just said they are having blizzard conditions...ugh. So we might be on hold until tomorrow.

Onto the real reason you are stopping by! I made two cards for this month's PTI blog hop. My second card has a bit more color put into it, although not a lot, but still more than just whites. You can click here for the 2nd card's post.

This card features the following Papertrey Ink products: White CS of course, vellum, tiny sentiment from With All my Heart stamp set which was stamped with Aqua Mist ink, woodgrain IP, damask snowflakes dies, framed out #11 die (heart) and the countdown banner dies. I am so glad I purchased those...I've already used them several times. They are tiny, but oh so cute! I also tied rustic button twine around the card. I wanted to round the bottom corners but my punch is MIA right now...oops...hehe. Time to clean up my scrap supplies so I can find it again.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a Happy New Year! :)

make.it.monday no.96

are you ready for christmas? i'm not, LOL...so i'm just popping in quickly to show my card that i put together for pti's make it monday no. 96! the challenge was to create a patchwork diecut using scraps. like melissa, i used the new limitless layers hearts and the stamp sets: with all my heart, framed out #11, heart border die & countdown banner die. i did lots of watermark stamping with my versamark onto sweet blush cardstock. the brighter pink ink is hibiscus burst. patterned papers were pti's pure poppy polka dot and the others were random scraps from american crafts (light pink with flowers), making memories (dark red polka dots), and the red damask was a basic grey pattern. thanks for taking a peek!

Umba Box Goodies

last friday, lauren from umba box contacted me after finding my etsy shop. she said they loved my handmade goodies and wanted to include a certain item in their holiday box this month! i can't say which item(s) because they want it to be a surprise for their subscribers :) while it was short notice...i had to have 300 done in 2 days, i decided that i definitely couldn't pass up the opportunity! lots and lots and LOTS of die cutting, stamping and adhering, lemme tell ya what! but after lots of hardwork, they were finished in time, and looked so cute after being packaged up!  thanks so much, umba box, for supporting handmade!

PTI November Blog Hop

i'm having a hard time believing that it's nearly december already! where does the time go?

for this month's pti blog hop, we were given "cover art inspiration" as our challenge. i chose to base my card on the image in the lower left. i liked all of the colors and the overlapping of the images with a bold title at the top.

i used several different PTI stamp sets (tag-its #8, bells & boughs, tremendous treats: christmas, stylish sentiments: holiday) as well as an exclusive twopeas/studio calico PL christmas set that i purchased recently! ink colors are: aqua mist, simply chartreuse, new leaf, summer sunrise, pure poppy and tuxedo black by memento. hope you enjoy!

a "hooty" halloween

little weston was a sweet, adorable owl for halloween this year. he (and myself) are battling a cold right now, and since he is still so young and because it was cold out, we just visited one house on halloween. our neighbors wanted to see him in his costume, so we ran over there to visit for a bit. he was the cutest owl i've ever seen! :)

PTI October Blog Hop

Morning!

Still trying to get caught up from our whirlwind trip to Indiana for my son's 1st birthday over the weekend (which was so much fun!)...so I'll make this quick! My momma and sister are also coming to visit for the next few days so I still have a few things to do this morning :)

My card this month for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop features these stamp sets: Bells & Boughs, Tremendous Treats: Christmas. I chose the first color scheme that Nichole posted using Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, New Leaf and Simply Chartreuse. I really like how it turned out!

The patterned paper is from Studio Calico's new line, Wonderland. It's so pretty. I'm not sure how long they have been perforating their 6x6 pads but it's awesome...in the past, the papers were directly bound to the spine and it would rip them or pull part of the page in front of it along with it, so I was very happy to see they have made improvements to their paper pad! The teal airmail washi tape is from Target :)

wcmd challenge 2

i have another fun card to share, also for a paper smooches world card making day challenge. for this one, there was a specification to use the color pink on a card. this fun little paper-pieced monster just so happens to be pulling a bright *pink* paper-pieced apple behind him. i created a computer generated sentiment for this one. the stamps are both from paper smooches "falling for you" stamp set. that was my first PS stamp set that my husband ordered for me for my birthday last year (on my special request, of course LOL). since then i've been very fortunate to win two different giveaways of paper smooches products, so my arsenal has grown quite a bit! thanks to kim hughes and also cath at the moxiefab blog for those great giveaways that i won! gotta love that!

make.it.monday no.85

yesterday for world card making day, i created a card for papertrey ink's make it monday feature. this week's challenge was to create a project with glitter tabs. i tried using versamark, dipping in coarse glitter and heat embossing. nope, that was a no go. the heat gun just blew the glitter all over. so then i redid it using fine glitter but it would not heat set either. finally i ended up adding strips of scor-tape to the tabs and coating them with glitter. that worked perfectly. as a happy accident, i think the tabs ended up looking a little like clouds, which was fitting with the sunrays and sentiment :)

wcmd challenge 1

yesterday was world card making day...there are lots of challenges out there from lots of different companies... offering some great prizes!

this card is for the ONE LAYER challenge at Paper Smooches :)  it simply is stamped images, colored with prismacolors, then outlined with a copic marker to give some added depth.

papertrey ink september blog hop

just wanted to pop in quickly to share a little something for the papertrey ink september blog hop.  this month the inspiration was to use felt or fabric as part of your gift packaging. i had this pretty floral fabric that i incorporated as a decorative element, and also to tie my two small gift boxes together. i used a bit of bakers twine around the fabric knot which holds on my tag. i used the chevron stamp from teach & inspire, along with the sentiment from framed out #6 on the tag. this is a very quick and easy way to package up a little gift in a pinch and can easily be done in 5 minutes :) gotta love that!

make.it.monday #78

hello! very quickly stopping in to post my PTI MIM card for this week. not a whole lot to it besides a couple stamps from PTI chair-ished set, washi and strip of pattern paper, and yellow embroidery floss, of course! i am having a very busy week (today especially) so gotta run! thanks for taking a peek!

make.it.monday #77

this week's pti features using ink pads as watercolors. can i just say that i am in love with this! i especially love it because dawn featured her delightful dahlia stamp set. i was just posting on the product idea forum thread that i was also hoping they would release a solid filler stamp for this flower because i don't usually color flowers like that, so thought i would never use it. but now i can watercolor with my stamp pads and i am so dang excited about it! so my card uses these sets: delightful dahlia, frienship jar & the stem is from botanical silhouettes. i really really am hoping that nichole will see my request for a $5 flower stem set that will be long enough to use with this jar and work with flowers like these dahlias, rosie posie flowers, in bloom flowers etc. something like the stem from the daydreamer stamp set would be perfect! so crossing my fingers. anyhow! i really loved the messy, artistic look this created and didn't stay in the lines on purpose. i "oopsed" a little and dropped my block after stamping my jar (which was of course the last thing i stamped) so there is a faint double stamping of the jar which is why i didn't mount it to a card base. but i definitely plan to recreate this when i have a chance! thanks for taking a peek!

make.it.monday #76

this week's papertrey ink make.it.monday features stamping with bleach. i had started creating a card last weekend that i still wanted to add clouds to, so i thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try this out. the results were so.so for me...i don't think my paper towels were absorbant enough so i kind of just dipped the whole stamp in a bleach pool then it was soo much and dripping yadda yadda. so i only did two of the clouds with bleach and used versamark for the rest of them. it was fun to try out a new technique though :)

papertrey ink july blog hop

hiya! popping in this morning to share my card for this month's blog hop. nichole chose a beautiful inspiration photo with summery colors..very cheery. i made a card for my grandma's birthday, which is at the end of the month. i love her dearly. truth be told, she receives the majority of my handmade cards that i don't sell. we write each other back and forth and everytime she replies back she tells me that she loves my cards i make for her :) makes my heart warm to know someone appreciates it. grandmas are so special. i used inspiration from one of the SAF first aid cards to color my flowers (think it was the one that erin made.over). thanks for taking a look!

stamp.a.fair : morning make.n.take

for my morning make.n.take, i broke out my rosie posie stamp set. the pretty sentiment is from last years SAF set, iconic images. i had to heat emboss that because i only have dye ink...and because i am weird (as in my momma would tell me dont touch that hot stove so i would go touch that hot stove) i tried to smudge the sentiment afterwards...but it didnt smudge...thank goodness lol. it held up just fine. and lastly the leaves were from paper smooches reflections stamp set.

papertrey ink stamp.a.faire

saturday is the big stamp.a.faire summer camp! lots of fun activities will be going on all day! since i have a 9 month old, i might not get to participate in actual project making as much but i will definitely be watching videos and chatting in the forum throughout the day :)

last year i was lucky enough to attend the event in cincinnati and meet all the pti team. anyone remember the lil pregnant girlie waddling around? yup, that was me lol!

hope everyone has a great day stamping away!

Stamper's First Aid Submission

I created this card a few weeks ago but I feel that it's in need of help...first aid if you will...PTI designers, a girl could use your help! I considered stitching where my two patterns meet, adding buttons, applying glossy accents to the frame, giving the butterfly a glittery makeover, etc. I would love to see your solution! I really liked the sentiment on that Studio Calico pattern paper in the bottom right corner and decided to collage the frame and sentiment but maybe thats where I went wrong lol! In my head it was going to be an awesome, trendy card but I was left with a case of the blaha on this one. See the more I think about it, the more sad I get...please help out this card! It deserves some PTI love! :)

MIM #73

although i'm cutting it close to the deadline and only have a grainy iphone pic to share, i still am submitting my card for this week's papertrey ink make it monday. this week, ashley did a video about stamping on pattern paper. my card uses some grid paper that i got from hobby lobby which i believe is the paper studio brand, and the yellow polka dot is by basic gray. the stamps i used are pti: in bloom & pretty peonies, plus leaves from paper smooches' reflections stamp set. i won 5 paper smooches sets from the paper crafts moxie fab blog a few weeks back...woot woot...i was suuuper excited about that :) anyhow thanks for taking a peek! oh, and i got more happy mail from susan at paper crafts magazine on friday. another card of mine will be published, this time in their january/february issue!!! so amazing...thanks pcm!

june papertrey ink blog hop

it's the 25th of the month, so that means it's time for another monthly papertrey ink blog hop! isn't that a pretty inspiration picture to start from?

my card this month features stamps these stamp sets: PTI - Think Big Favorites #12 (sentiment) & Pretty Peonies (large butterfly); Paper Smooches -  Reflections (leaves); and the smaller butterflies are from a 99¢ Studio G set that I grabbed at wal-mart (there were 3 butterflies in a row, but i just snipped apart with my scissors). The crepe paper was misted with some studio calico mister huey and the washi tape was in a dear lizzy american crafts set. after a quick stitch with my sewing machine, viola!

thanks so much for stopping by to see my project. hope you have a fabulous day! :)

May Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

i created a quick little card using papertrey's anniversary stamp set, pretty peonies. i don't have the coordinating die-cuts yet, but it's easy to just trim out the frame by hand...although those dies are on my wish list! the frame was stamped with tuxedo black memento ink, the sentiment with pit's new leaf ink, and i used versa mark to emboss the peonies on the pattern paper. this is not the first time that i have heat embossed, but this is the first time using versamark ink. let me tell you...it's amazing! previously i had just used a generic from hobby lobby, which half of the time didn't hold onto the embossing power...but this versamark, this stuff is the real deal! i'm in love with it! the green ledger pattern paper is by studio calico and cardstock is simply chartreuse and stamper's select white. since i was keeping this a simple design, i decided to pop off the frame with 3d foam and attach to the main panel with embroidery floss. easy as pie! and quick too...if you've got a crawler on your hands as i do, i am sure you can appreciate that! :)

(i am blogging from my ipod so sorry i havent attatched the inspiration picture)

hope you & yours have a fabulous weekend and memorial day. thank a soldier if you see one!

Make it Monday No.67

this week papertrey ink's challenge is to create a card with three or more pattern papers. betsy made a great video talking about her process when mixing & matching papers. again, my picture isn't great but i actually used 4 patterns as the tiny star border was die cut from a piece of pink paper that had some texture printed on it as well. the papers are all from 6x6 basic grey pads, label sticker by martha stewart office, and papertrey for the rest: button twine, star border & sentiment from up, up & away stamp set. thanks for taking a peek! xxo andie...

make it monday #63

hiya! this week's papertrey ink challenge is to step up your layering and showcase it across multiple cards. i created two cards for this challenge...my first card was suppose to be a single layer card with many stamped images onto the card base itself...but i hated the first stamped card i started, so i cut that card apart, turned over the card block & started over! i originally used pti new leaf ink for some large flourishes and i really was not feeling it what.so.ever! i'm glad i talked myself into starting over because i am really loving the new cards! :) so long story short the one layer card got the stamped panel adhered to a card base instead of it truly being one layer...but i'm ok with that! my second card features diecut flowers and the stamped panel is raised from the base with 3d foam. the stamp sets i used are all from papertrey ink: rosie posie, in bloom, think big favorites 12 & pretty peonies. i think that about covers itthanks for stopping by today! :)

very merry easter!

our easter was low.key this year...just our little family. right now the mr. is slow cooking ribs on the grill, i have pasta salad and baked potatoes waiting and westy just fell asleep. it was a lovely day outside so the yard got mowed and i worked on laundry, dishes and overall tidying up today. not a bad day if i do say so myself!

i created this card early this week but for whatever reason i never emailed it to paige for her create blog card challenge this week. after i saw the post i was bummed cause i had time to play along for once but thats ok...now i have an easter card to share with you on easter! those darling stamps are papertrey ink of course! :)

Make it Monday #60 : Generational Stamping

hiya!
i'm here today to share a birthday card i created for this week's papertrey ink make it monday challenge.  the technique this week is generational stamping, which basically means that you stamp your image multiple times without re-inking...this creates a lighter variant of your ink color and produces a soft effect with all of the different tones. i used papertrey's "pretty peonies" anniversary stamp set which i absolutely love love love. the images & especially the sentiments are just gorgeous.  my ink colors were sweet blush, aqua mist, new leaf and summer sunrise, all from pti as well, plus smokey shadow for the smaller sentiment. i added some glitter to the full color flowers with my spica glitter pen...looks much  prettier in person...i need to invest in a light box so i can take better pictures :)

thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

march 2012 pti blog hop

hiya! just wanted to quickly share a tag i created for this month's blog hop...i have a lot to do before we head to a cookout so this will be brief! i used tag sale 4 for the base, scrambled eggs stamps and dies on dear lizzy neapolitan 6x6 paper and made a little banner for the sentiment...finished off with some ac ribbon and embroidery floss wrapped around the knot. thanks for hopping by today! xxo andie...

going ons...

westy is 5 months old already...soon to be 6 months! he is a little rolly polly thing. he rolls back and forth ALL over. he started grabbing for his toes last weekend. he likes to play "shy" and bury his face in my shoulder if i am holding him and someone else talks to him...its pretty much adorable! i *think he's starting to understand kisses...the other day he opened his mouth and dove straight for my cheek :) he lights up my life and everyday i am so thankful that my mr. and i were blessed with such a beautiful, healthy, happy little boy!

i've been busy pulling weeds (never.ending.ugh!) and edging the sidewalks. i would die & go to heaven if i could afford to hire a landscaper hah! it looks so pretty once done, but its a lot of work getting to it then the maintenance. but my tulips are blooming so i had to get rid of those stinking weeds.

last week i submitted a couple cards to papercrafts mag but no happy mail this time...booo! plan to list the cards on my etsy shop which has been sadly ignored for such a long time. i'm looking forward to organizing my loft so i can get back to creating! my mom and sisters are coming to visit next week (YEAH!!!) so thats the perfect excuse for me to whip it into shape!

happy spring!

be mine

sorry for the lack of posts lately...my computer is down and out for the count...again. seems this time its something to do with the battery and/or the charger pack. ugh. its hard for me to type on my lil ipod but it will have to do for now :)

anyhow its february so that means papertrey ink is celebrating their anniversary by hosting tons of great inspiration on their blog and offering lots of chances to win stamps. today, nichole asked that we create a card with hearts. my project is very simple...very quick and easy. i made it for my grammie to send her for valentines along with some pictures i took of her and westy at thanksgiving when she met her great.grandson for the first time. such precious memories!

here's to 2012...

hope your new year is off to a very merry start!

i'm not going to call them new years resolutions...because then i probably won't achieve them...i will just say these are a few things i'm going to do this year:

as i'm sifting through my 386 "new" emails...i've realized that i'm spending way too much time oogling over everyone else's creativity and not actually creating enough on my own. there is always so much inspiration out there that is beautiful to look at, but the more i keep pinning images, the less time i actually have to create. so my new years resolution is to unsubscribe from several blogs to get back some of my "me" time. i mean seriously, we all lead busy lives but when you don't check your email from 3 days and have almost 400 emails to go through, that's a little ridiculous in my book. unless that is your job to do that. and it's not my job. haha. so i will go forth and start unsubscribing!

another goal i have is to get my loft/studio in shape! it looks like a hurricane came through in 8 consecutive passes. we have an old house with basically no storage and no basement so everything gets piled upstairs. it needs major work. i will also be decluttering the junk we will never use and i can't wait. organization, here i come!

i'm going to start my project life album...just waiting for it to get here in the mail. i'm going to use my new sewing machine that my husband bought me for my birthday. i'm going to take lots of photos. i'm going to enjoy life with my little family. here's to a bright start to 2012 :)

xxo andie...
