PTI October Blog Hop

Morning!

Still trying to get caught up from our whirlwind trip to Indiana for my son's 1st birthday over the weekend (which was so much fun!)...so I'll make this quick! My momma and sister are also coming to visit for the next few days so I still have a few things to do this morning :)

My card this month for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop features these stamp sets: Bells & Boughs, Tremendous Treats: Christmas. I chose the first color scheme that Nichole posted using Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, New Leaf and Simply Chartreuse. I really like how it turned out!

The patterned paper is from Studio Calico's new line, Wonderland. It's so pretty. I'm not sure how long they have been perforating their 6x6 pads but it's awesome...in the past, the papers were directly bound to the spine and it would rip them or pull part of the page in front of it along with it, so I was very happy to see they have made improvements to their paper pad! The teal airmail washi tape is from Target :)

wcmd challenge 2

i have another fun card to share, also for a paper smooches world card making day challenge. for this one, there was a specification to use the color pink on a card. this fun little paper-pieced monster just so happens to be pulling a bright *pink* paper-pieced apple behind him. i created a computer generated sentiment for this one. the stamps are both from paper smooches "falling for you" stamp set. that was my first PS stamp set that my husband ordered for me for my birthday last year (on my special request, of course LOL). since then i've been very fortunate to win two different giveaways of paper smooches products, so my arsenal has grown quite a bit! thanks to kim hughes and also cath at the moxiefab blog for those great giveaways that i won! gotta love that!

make.it.monday no.85

yesterday for world card making day, i created a card for papertrey ink's make it monday feature. this week's challenge was to create a project with glitter tabs. i tried using versamark, dipping in coarse glitter and heat embossing. nope, that was a no go. the heat gun just blew the glitter all over. so then i redid it using fine glitter but it would not heat set either. finally i ended up adding strips of scor-tape to the tabs and coating them with glitter. that worked perfectly. as a happy accident, i think the tabs ended up looking a little like clouds, which was fitting with the sunrays and sentiment :)

wcmd challenge 1

yesterday was world card making day...there are lots of challenges out there from lots of different companies... offering some great prizes!

this card is for the ONE LAYER challenge at Paper Smooches :)  it simply is stamped images, colored with prismacolors, then outlined with a copic marker to give some added depth.
